It has been at least 25 years since I have been to a Luby’s, primarily because so many locations have closed. We were at Brownsvilles Sunrise Mall and saw the Luby’s sign and decided to have lunch today, Thursday April 23 around 11:30. I had the almandine fish with tartar sauce, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and a yellow squash with zucchini vegetable mix, it was all good but not to rave about. My wife tried the baked chicken breast with mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese and a fruit bowl, again, acceptable but not to rave over. Please don’t misunderstand, under the right circumstances we would return, there wasn’t anything wrong with the food. The serving line moved fairly quickly and the staff were all friendly.

Best place to go eat at whatever time. All the food is great love the turkey.

I was hesitant about posting this, but I feel I have to. On Tuesday, I showed up at around 6 o’clock in the evening to get some food for takeout for my family. Long story short, one of the dishes was a chicken fried chicken combo, where chicken was raw in the center. By the time we started eating, it was already too late to go back to the store, but I thought I would at least call the restaurant to let them know what it happened. On the first call, I got an employee that really did not care to hear what the issue was, and ended up hanging up on me. I ended up calling a second time, and the employee basically did the same, hung up on me after I tried explaining what was going on. Finally, on the third time I got a hold of someone, who said was a manager, and basically said that the kitchen staff had probably not checked the temperature. This is a serious health violation, and I am very surprised that it took three phone calls to get someone to take the concern seriously. It’s a shame what has happened to this location, as it used to be good. I don’t know what to say anymore.

Hadn’t been to Luby‘s in years and I was reminded that I used to love this place when I was a kid. I have the country-fried steak combo which came with two sides and bread. This cafeteria style place still has a variety of things in the menu that fall into the bucket of home-cooked meals and I really appreciate the nostalgia and the tastes. Mashed potatoes with cream gravy for the win!

11•22•24 so came in on this date and what can I say but dissapoint you be upset to paying $25.00 just for your plate ONLY. this is where I get agitated and Pist off. So your there in line 4eva ok u got dis but when you get your "FOOD WHILE BEING SERVED" you do expect A HOT meal what in the world... I pay, I sit, barley gonna eat and Guess what the whole meal is Cold not warm people Cold. You get the simplest item fried fish as prior 2months ago and this time cold, the fried zucchini Cold, the only thing hot or semi hot was the mac n cheese. SERIOUSLY I get up go to the front not one min sitting down they ask as I approached I said this fish is COLD she looks at me puzzeled i just cut into it no steam not warm cold as if it sat on a back shelf then decided to bring out to serve and sell thats what it was like. She takes it back apologized then brings new one and on the spot in front of her i touch it cut through it and guess what people (COLD)again SERIOUSLY.. she throws that one brings another felt as if they just dunk it in oil or whatever outer was Warm and inside same damn temperature cold. Ughh i was fed up by now took it and sat and ate upset. You be ticked off too paying $25.
